Well... the New United States knew about them, and Dominion also. Seems that at least some Grik Empire assets are on the Atlantic coast.

My necromancy looking at the Skuggik innards suggest they do have forces on the Atlantic coast of southern Africa, and the League of Tripoli has bases on the Northern Atlantic coasts of Africa, locations TBA next book Smile
