Here's a thread to question the author's choice.

Mine, in Distant Thunders I'd of had Irwin Laumer survive capturing the Celestial Mother alive General esshk ordered to elevate the new CM when ready she considered a prisoner or dead.

Amer Indians, Spanish from a Manilia Galeon, British from the East India Company, 1847 Americans, the league, waves of Africans, Egyptians, Romans, and Chinese in the Republic, yep lots of immigrants from other worlds, and perhaps more to come. Perhaps Grik like species from other worlds, and maybe the Gentaa.

We really didn't knew, had they came from one world or from several different.

Why not a parallel universe Nazi Germany in which Hitler was deposed in 1936 by a more competent leadership?
