Re: who's who on this forum
I'll go first. My name is Chris and I come from Melbourne Australia. I've only gotten into the series in the last 12 months and I'm reading the last book now. I'm currently reading up on Naval warfare in the Pacific which has made the books all the more entertaining.

I like Alternate History, historical, and science fiction. From Idaho in the United States.
@Chris I was introduced to the series by Australians and New Zealanders discussing it on Science Fiction author David Weber's forums.
PS Matthieu above is from France and works with Taylor mentioned in introduction of Straits of Hell.

Forgot to say, I'm an econometrician (you don't want to know what it is) and am something like a "department dean" (or a track coordinator or another funny name) in a major business school where I teach econometrics, statistics, operational research, data analysis and many other things with disgusting names (non linear optimization, statistical process control, design of experiment...).
I have many hobbies including reenactement (medieval) and history where I've got some knowledge on some strange topics (operational level in the soviet army, tactics of the japanese military..).

RE: Who's Who
Hello all!
My name is Clifton Sutherland, and I am a high school senior from Colorado. I started reading the series around 2010 and have been hooked ever since. My major interests are naval and military history, astronomy, and political science. I am currently working towards the NROTC scholarship for college. Also, I occasionally enjoy being stabbed in a funny looking suit (fencing).

Fencing? I'm "instructeur initiateur" at fencing (meaning not master of arm but 2nd level instructor) in the Fédération Française d'Escrime and I specialized in historical (medieval and Louis XIII) and stage fencing. I have some foils, sabers, swords (medieval) and hallberds at home.
